According to recent report from Sky Sports on 11th March, 2026, Liverpool defender and Captain Virgil van Dijk in his UCL post match interview, spoke on Victor Osimhen’s incredible header skill which he displayed against his side in their last night’s UEFA Champions league round of 16 first leg clash in Turkey.
Van Dijk recounted he had a clearer view of Victor Osimhen’s header attempt in the clash, as he tried with his teammates at the defense line to stop Osimhen from securing a remarkable goal with his head that night.
The Netherlands international and 34-year-old defender reiterated that Victor Osimhen is a great striker who has continued to be consistent and maintained an incredible form at Galatasaray. Van Dijk said Osimhen can really fly too high above defenders to score with his head and there is no doubt about that.
However, many football analysts had already predicted Victor Osimhen will score a home goal against Liverpool in last night’s UCL clash and the Nigerian forward performed wonderfully throughout the match, but could not find back of the net before the final whistle.
Despite that, Van Dijk applauds the former Napoli attacker for knowing how to jump extremely high above defenders in the 18-yard-box while attempting to secure a goal for Galatasaray.
