Kwankwaso Officially Joins ADC In Kano Today

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Kano State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano. He received his party card at Gidan Kwankwasiyya, Miller Road, Bompai, Kano, amidst the presence of prominent leaders, including Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, and David Mark. This move is seen as a significant boost to the ADC, potentially reshaping the 2027 elections.

Kwankwaso’s defection follows weeks of consultations with ADC leaders and opposition stakeholders, aiming to forge a broader coalition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). There’s speculation of a possible Obi-Kwankwaso presidential ticket, with former President Olusegun Obasanjo reportedly facilitating the alliance.
