Tiwa Savage, Nigeria Music Icon has opened up about a past relationship that left her feeling unappreciated and emotionally drained. She revealed that she once dated a well-known celebrity who insisted on keeping their relationship hidden from the public.
According to a report by Sun Nigeria on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Tiwa explained that the man would deliberately act like a stranger whenever they attended events together. To conceal their connection, he often engaged other women laughing, talking, and even getting physically close to them while she was present. This created the false impression that he was single, even though they were together privately.
The situation, she admitted, was deeply challenging. Tiwa felt silenced, unable to openly confront him because his behavior was part of his strategy to keep the relationship secret. Despite her discomfort, she was expected to remain quiet and play along.
She described the experience as degrading, recalling how she was repeatedly left standing aside while he entertained other women. Over time, the constant emotional strain made the relationship unbearable.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Tiwa said: “He had it good. We might be at the same event, and he’s probably talking, laughing, even touching other ladies while still looking at me like, ‘Don’t worry, I’m just doing it.’ And I couldn’t say anything. It was happening right in front of me.”
